Au Japon, les cerisiers en fleurs sont un symbole du printemps, une présence qui résonne dans le cœur des Japonais depuis l'Antiquité. Certains arbres sont plus que millénaires, comme le Yamadaka Jindaizakura à Yamanashi, le Miharu Takizakura à Fukushima et le Neodani Usuzumizakura à Gifu. Connus comme les « Trois Grands Cerisiers du Japon », leur beauté intemporelle est bouleversante. Si la vie d'un cerisier en fleurs est brève, c'est précisément cette fugacité qui fait sa beauté. Depuis la période Jōmon, les Japonais prennent plaisir à admirer les cerisiers en fleurs lors du « hanami » (contemplation des fleurs). Ces cerisiers millénaires, porteurs du temps et des souvenirs de nombreuses générations, fleurissent année après année sans faute, nous rappelant la préciosité de l'instant présent.

Cherry blossoms are a symbol of spring in Japan, and have long been a comforting presence in people's hearts. Some trees are over 1000 years old, with notable examples including the Yamadaka Jindai Cherry Tree in Yamanashi, the Miharu Takizakura in Fukushima, and the Neodani Usuzumi Cherry Tree in Gifu. These are known as the "Three Great Cherry Trees of Japan," and their enduring beauty is overwhelming. While the life of a cherry blossom is short, its transience is what makes it so beautiful, and since the Jomon period, the Japanese have enjoyed spending time admiring cherry blossoms as "hanami" (flower viewing). These ancient cherry trees, embodying the time and memories of many generations, bloom year after year without fail, quietly speaking of the preciousness of the present moment.

桜は日本の春を象徴する花で、古くから人々の心に寄り添ってきた存在。中には樹齢1000年を超える古木もあり、代表的なものに山梨の山高神代桜、福島の三春滝桜、岐阜の根尾谷淡墨桜がある。これらは「日本三大桜」と呼ばれ、長い年月を生き抜いた姿は圧倒的な存在感を放つ。桜は咲いて散るまでが短いが、その儚さゆえに美しさが際立ち、日本人は縄文時代から桜を眺めながら過ごす時間を「花見」として楽しんできた。古木の桜は、幾世代もの時間と記憶を内包しながら、毎年変わらず花を咲かせ、「今」という瞬間の尊さを静かに語りかけている。
そんな桜のように、
私たちも何度でも咲くことができることを、いつでも思い出したい。
